Hi, I didn't catch the name on this excellent blogpost. I am an architect who feels that no-one should have qualms about expressing their views on architecture, whether they are an architect or not.

The ability to communicate with non-architects is the most desirable skill that any architect (or architecture) can have.. Its easy to impress your peers once you know the "code"... To impress outside your sphere of influence- Thats a challenge..

Also, with reference to this blog post- anyone who expresses a passion for architecture has a lot of what it takes to be an architect- In fact, many architects sadly lose the passion they started out with as a student and become robots to a market/ system that doesn't foster creativity or care for those who inhabit the buildings they create.

However, I think the collaboration that tools like the web, open source, etc. present a massive opportunity to those who are willing to embrace a bright new innovation-led future.
